Allen County

Richland Township
BWC approved $9,292.07 to purchase one chest compression system with charger, batteries, power cord, life band packs, and one auto pulse soft stretcher to reduce the risk of injury to fingers, hands, wrist,  arms, shoulder, neck, back, and legs related to repetitive motion, hand force, awkward postures, push/pull moderate to heavy load, and manual materials handling. The intervention will improve the cardiopulmonary resuscitation process.  Richland Township Fire Department provides fire, rescue, emergency medical services, and other life safety and technical rescue services.

Vanamatic Company
BWC approved $19,789.73 to purchase one conveyor system with a universal robot and accessories to reduce the risk of injury to hands, fingers, wrists, shoulders, arms, neck, back, and legs related to repetition, awkward postures, bending, and push/pull – moderate load. The intervention will improve the CNC lathing process. Vanamatic Company is a global supplier of precision machined components for the aerospace, automotive, fluid power, and general fittings industries and is located in Delphos, Ohio.

Auglaize County

City of St. Marys

Brown County

Clark Township for Fire and EMS
BWC approved $40,000.00 to purchase two powered load systems and one powered cot (one powered cot exists) to reduce the risk of injury related to manually lifting and loading/unloading patients into and out of emergency vehicles. The intervention will improve the process of patient handling and lifting by reducing repetitive lifting. Clark Township Fire and EMS provides fire suppression, rescue and EMS services in the southern portion of Brown County.

BWC approved $4,260.77 to purchase one hydraulic vehicle restrain system with automatic lights communication package to reduce the risk of injury to upper and lower extremities related to slips, trips, falls from forklift, and strike by vehicle. The intervention will improve the materials loading and unloading process.  Morgal Machine Tool Co. is a precision metal forming manufacturer that specializes in stamping, leveling, and v-groove/u-groove and poly-groove pulleys with welded hubs.

Rose City Manufacturing Inc.
BWC approved $12,709.92 to purchase three hydraulic vehicle restraint systems with automatic lights communication package to reduce the risk of injury to upper and lower extremities related to slips, trips, falls from forklift, and strike by vehicle. Clinton County

SRWW Joint Fire District #2
BWC approved $6,795.00 to purchase one power hose roller system with go-pack, extra battery pack and charger, extra coupling jaws, and fastback to reduce the risk of injury to fingers, hands, wrist, arms, shoulder, neck, back, and legs related to hand force, awkward postures, contact stress, push/pull moderate to heavy load, and manual materials handling. The intervention will improve the hose testing, roll-up, and transport processes.  SRWW Joint Fire District #2 is the primary provider of fire, rescue, emergency medical, and other life safety/technical rescue services for the Village of Sabina, and the townships of Richland, Wilson, Wayne, and Jasper.

 Cuyahoga County

City of Pepper Pike
BWC approved $12,085.00 to purchase one power load system to reduce the risk of injury to hands, wrist, arms, back, and legs related to hand force, awkward postures, push/pull moderate to heavy load, and manual materials handling. The intervention will improve the patient transferring process.  City of Pepper Pike provides emergency medical and non-emergency medical transport for residents within the city.

City of Rocky River for Fire Department
BWC approved $39,357.42 to purchase two powered load systems for two existing powered cots to reduce the risk of injury related to manually lifting and loading/unloading patients into and out of emergency vehicles. The intervention will improve the process of patient handling and lifting by reducing repetitive lifting. The City of Rocky River Fire Department provides fire, rescue, and emergency medical services (EMS).

BWC approved $40,000.00 to purchase one conveyor system to reduce the risk of injury to the hands, fingers, wrists, arms, neck, back, and legs related to hand force, awkward postures, contact stress, and manual materials handling – load.  The intervention will improve the mail sorting process. Mid-West Presort Mailing Services Inc. is a mail sorting company that sorts mail for the USPS.

Westlake
BWC approved $14,456.58 to purchase one power cot and power load system to reduce the risk of injury to hands, wrist,  arms, back, and legs related to hand force, awkward postures, push/pull moderate to heavy load, and manual materials handling. The intervention will improve the patient transport process.  The Westlake Fire Department provides fire protection and emergency medical services.

Fairfield County

Bloom Township for Fire Department
BWC approved $8,928.00 to purchase two hose maintenance systems to reduce the risk of injury to the hands, wrists, arms, neck, back, and legs related to repetition, hand force, awkward postures, push/pull moderate load, and manual materials handling. The intervention will improve the fire hose maintenance process. The Bloom Township Fire Department provides fire suppression services in an about 45 square miles area in Fairfield and Pickaway Counties.

BWC approved $10,988.67 to purchase five shortening shuttles and five portable oil filters to reduce the risk of injury to the hands, wrists, arms, shoulders, neck, back, and legs related to burns, hand force, awkward postures, push/pull – moderate loads, and manual material handling – load and frequency.  This intervention will improve the oil filtering/straining process. BWC approved $11,371.98 to purchase two 10foot podium ladders, two 8 foot podium ladders, one mobile fall protection cart, and one portable scaffolding system to reduce the risk of injury to upper and lower extremities related to lacerations, awkward postures, slips, trips, falls, electrical hazards, repetitive motions, and manual materials handling. The intervention will improve the building maintenance and construction processes.  Miles McClellan Construction is a general contractor.

BWC approved $30,784.50 to purchase one integrated patient transport and loading system and installation to reduce the risk of injury to hands, wrist,  arms, back, and legs related to hand force, awkward postures, push/pull moderate to heavy load, and manual materials handling. The intervention will improve the patient transport process.  Chester Township Volunteer Fire Department provides fire, rescue, and emergency medical services.

Guernsey County

BWC approved $33,727.70 to purchase one power cot and one power load to reduce the risk of injury to hands, wrist,  arms, back, and legs related to hand force, awkward postures, push/pull moderate to heavy load, and manual materials handling. The intervention will improve the patient transport process.  Mt. Healthy Fire Department provides fire and emergency medical services.

BWC approved $40,000.00 to purchase eighteen patient slings of various sizes, four patient lifts with scales, two sit to stand lifts, two patient lifts, and one patient slide package to reduce the risk of injury to hands, wrist, arms, shoulder, neck, back, and legs related to hand force, awkward postures, contact stress, push/pull moderate to heavy load, and manual materials handling. The intervention will improve the patient transferring process.  Oak Hills Nursing & Rehab is a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility located in Cincinnati Ohio.

Terrace Park Village for EMS
BWC approved $34,028.73 to purchase one powered load system and one powered cot to reduce the risk of injury related to manually lifting and loading/unloading patients into and out of emergency vehicles. The intervention will improve the process of patient handling and lifting by reducing repetitive lifting. Terrace Park Emergency Medical Services is an all-volunteer Basic Life Support department in Hamilton County.

Holmes County

BWC approved $21,885.08 to purchase one custom build stationary platform system and one single pedestal support platform to reduce the risk of injury to the upper and lower extremities related to falls from heights, slips, trips, falls, awkward postures, and manual materials handling. The intervention will improve the milk tanker unloading and cleaning process.  Bunker Hill Cheese Co. Inc. produces cheese, butter, and whey products.

Jackson County

Buckeye Community Services Inc.
BWC approved $5,198.25 to purchase one lift gate and one battery powered stair climbing hand truck to reduce the risk of injury to hands, arms, shoulder, neck, back, and legs related to hand force, awkward postures, contact stress, push/pull moderate to heavy load, and manual materials handling. The intervention will improve the appliances moving process.  Buckeye Community Services Inc. is a private not for profit organization that provides residential, day habilitation, and employment services for people who have developmental disabilities.

Knox County

J & R Farms LLC
BWC approved $40,000.00 to purchase one grain engulfment prevention/retrieval system and one roof top fall protection system to reduce the risk of injury to the upper and lower extremities related to falls from heights and engulfment. The intervention will improve the maintenance of grain bins process.  J & R Farms LLC grows and harvests several thousand acres of corn, soybeans, and wheat in and around Knox and Licking Counties.

Lorain County

BWC approved $38,151.75 to purchase one power cot with accessories one power load, and one mass casualty floor mount to reduce the risk of injury to hands, wrist,  arms, back, and legs related to hand force, awkward postures, contact stress, push/pull moderate to heavy load, and manual materials handling. The intervention will improve the patient transport process.  Columbia Township Fire Department provides primary fire protection and emergency medical services to the township.

Elyria Township for Fire Department
BWC approved $40,000.00 to purchase two powered load systems and two powered cots to reduce the risk of injury related to manually lifting and loading/unloading patients into and out of emergency vehicles. The intervention will improve the process of patient handling and lifting by reducing repetitive lifting. The Elyria Township Fire Department provides fire, rescue, and emergency medical services.

The intervention will improve the patient transport process.  North Central Ambulance District provides emergency medical services.

Richland County

The intervention will improve the patient extraction and rescue process.  Lindsey Village Volunteer Fire Department provides fire suppression, rescue, and emergency medical services for the communities of Washington and Rich Townships Franklin Township.

Scioto County

BWC approved $33,793.88 to purchase one powered load system and one powered cot to reduce the risk of injury related to manually lifting and loading/unloading patients into and out of emergency vehicles. The intervention will improve the process of patient handling and lifting by reducing repetitive lifting. Nile Township EMS is a partially paid service and partially volunteer EMS serving an 86 square mile area in Scioto County.

Seneca County

Fostoria Ethanol LLC dba Poet Biorefining Fostoria
BWC approved $40,000.00 to purchase one dryer platform and one boom assembly to reduce the risk of injury to upper and lower extremities related to slips, trips, falls, suspension trauma, contusions, hand force, and chemical exposures. The intervention will improve the equipment maintenance process. Poet Biorefining Fostoria is a starch based ethanol biorefinery located in northwest Ohio.

Stark County

Greentown Volunteer Fire Dept. Inc.
BWC approved $40,000.00 to purchase one power cot with accessories, one power load system, one chest compression system, and one mass casualty floor mat to reduce the risk of injury to hands, wrist,  arms, back, and legs related to hand force, awkward postures, push/pull moderate to heavy load, and manual materials handling. The intervention will improve the cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and patient transporting processes.  Greentown Volunteer Fire Dept. Inc. is a not for profit organization that provides fire, emergency medical, and public emergency services to Lake Township Ohio.
