BWC approved $20,070.00 to purchase six ergonomic conveyor work stations to reduce the risk of injury to back and legs related to awkward postures.  This intervention will improve the manual materials lathing process.  Vanamatic Company is a supplier of precision machined components to the aerospace, automotive, fluid power, and general fittings industries.

Ashland County

FB Acquisitions LLC

BWC approved $3,714.75 to purchase one electric pallet jack to reduce the risk of injury to the hands, arms, neck, back, and legs related to hand force, awkward postures, push/pull – moderate load. This intervention will improve the materials handling process.  FB Acquisitions LLC specializes in folding cartons and processing envelops in Ashland, Ohio.

Clark County

Pleasant Township

BWC approved $7,041.77 to purchase one automated chest compressions systems with rechargeable batteries, charger, and power supply to reduce the risk of injury to fingers, hands, wrist, arms, shoulder, neck, back, and legs related to repetitive motion, hand force, awkward postures, push/pull moderate load, and manual materials handling.  This intervention will improve the patient cardiopulmonary resuscitation process.  Pleasant Township Fire Department provides fire, rescue, and emergency medical services to the township and the contracted district of Union Township in Champaign County.

Crawford County

Bucyrus Fire Department

BWC approved $26,385.51 to purchase 2 chest compression units and two stair chairs to potentially reduce the risk of injury to the wrist, neck, shoulders, and hands and back related to awkward posture, twisting, bending, repetitive motion, lifting, contact stress and hand force. This intervention will improve the resuscitation process and the process of transferring patients on stairs. The Bucyrus Fire Department provides fire and emergency medical services.

BWC approved $40,000.00 to purchase thirty-five two basket carts, fifteen four basket carts, one conveyor system with lifts, and one automated basket dumper to reduce the risk of injury to hands, wrist, arms, shoulder, neck, back, and legs related to hand force, awkward postures, contact stress, push/pull moderate load, and manual materials handling.  This intervention will improve the parts washing process.  TRAMEC LLC is a manufacturer of brass components and assemblies for original equipment manufacturers and aftermarket heavy truck and trailer industries.

BWC approved $34,245.12 to purchase one power cot, one power load system, and one mass casualty floor mount to reduce the risk of injury to hands, arms, shoulder, neck, back, and legs related to hand force, awkward postures, push/pull moderate load, and manual materials handling.  This intervention will improve the patient transport process.

Brecksville for Fire Department

BWC approved $5,754.88 to purchase one fire hose maintenance system with accessories to reduce the risk of injury to the hands, arms, neck, back, and legs related to repetition, hand force, awkward  postures, push/pull – moderate load, and manual materials handling – load. This intervention will be used to improve the fire hose manipulation process. The Brecksville Fire Department provides EMS, fire and rescue calls.

Highland Heights for Fire Department

BWC approved $31,873.53 to purchase one powered load system and one powered cot to reduce the risk of injury related to manually lifting and loading/unloading patients into and out of emergency vehicles. This intervention will improve the processes patient handling and lifting by reducing repetitive lifting. The Highland Heights Fire Department is the primary provider of fire, rescue, life safety/technical rescue, and emergency medical services for the City of Highland Heights, Ohio.

BWC approved $40,000.00 to purchase one mobile pallet turner and aerator  to reduce the risk of injury to the hands, fingers, wrists, arms, neck, back, and legs related to hand force, awkward  postures, contact stress, push/pull – moderate load, and manual materials handling – load. This intervention will be used to improve the printing process. Jakprints is a custom printing shop focused on the apparel and full color industries.

Martin Pultrusion Group Inc.

BWC approved $26,761.50 to purchase one spray booth with fire suppression system to reduce the risk of injury to the upper and lower extremities, dermis, and respiratory system related to exposures to Toluene and volatile organic compounds. This intervention will improve the painting process. Martin Pultrusion Group Inc. manufactures Pultrusion machines and related ancillary equipment in addition to tooling and sales.

McMahon Masonry Restoration Ltd.

BWC approved $7,372.50 to purchase two dust collector vacuum systems to reduce the risk of injury to the respiratory system related to silica and other particulates.  This intervention will improve the masonry repair/restoration process. McMahon Masonry Restoration Ltd consists of journeyman and apprentice masons who complete restoration projects for commercial customers.

Schaffer Funeral Inc.

BWC approved $8,979.41 to purchase one height-adjustable embalming table and one ceiling lift to reduce the risk of injury to the hands, wrists, shoulders, neck, back, and legs related to hand force, awkward postures, push/pull – heavy load, and manual materials handling – load and frequency. This intervention will improve the embalming process.  Schaffer Funeral Home provides funeral services to the public which includes embalming, dressing, and farding.

Franklin County

EBB (US) Inc.

BWC approved $13,372.50 to purchase one combination wash tank with accessories to reduce the risk of injury to the hands, fingers, wrists, arms, shoulders, neck, back, and legs related to repetition, hand force, awkward  postures, contact stress, push/pull – moderate load, and manual materials handling – load and frequency. EBB (US) Inc manufactures cookie dough and canned refrigerated pastry dough.

Mifflin Township

BWC approved $40,000.00 to purchase one power cot and one power load system to reduce the risk of injury to hands, wrist, arms, shoulder, neck, back, and legs related to hand force, awkward postures, contact stress, push/pull moderate load, and manual materials handling.  This intervention will improve the patient transport process.  Mifflin Township Division of Fire provides emergency medical care and emergency medical prevention programs to the citizens of Gahanna and Mifflin Township.

Guernsey County Commissioners for Sheriff’s Office

BWC approved $3,219.34 to purchase 27 vests, 27 suspension systems, and 27 BSSA conversion kits to potentially reduce the risk of injury to the back and legs related to awkward postures, contact stress, and manual materials handling – load and frequency. This intervention will improve the sheriff deputies’ day-to-day processes. The Guernsey County Sheriff’s responds to criminal and emergency situations.

BWC approved $14,955.00 to purchase two one ton jib cranes to reduce the risk of injury to hands, wrist, arms, shoulder, neck, eyes, back and legs related to hand force, contact stress, push/pull moderate to heavy load, manual materials handling, lacerations, and burns.  This intervention will improve the welding process.  Koester Corporation specializes in automation processes for the foundry industry, automotive, painting systems, conveyors, aerospace, irrigation, glass bottles, and tableware.

BWC approved $26,878.98 to purchase, one standard duty pallet fork frame with two pallet forks, one heavy duty pallet fork frame, one hydraulic hammer attachment, one 7 cubic yard stone box, and one hydraulic dual lock coupler to reduce the risk of injury to hands, wrist, arms, neck, back, and legs related to hand force, awkward postures, contact stress, localized vibration, push/pull moderate to heavy load, and manual materials handling.  This intervention will improve the installation and maintenance processes.  Marut & Sons Excavating Inc. provides a variety of utility repair, installation, and maintenance services to residential sites.

BWC approved $34,887.46 to purchase one powered load system and one powered cot to reduce the risk of injury related to manually lifting and loading/unloading patients into and out of emergency vehicles. This intervention will improve the processes patient handling and lifting by reducing repetitive lifting. The National Trail Volunteer Fire Dept Inc employs volunteers and part-time employees. It provides fire and emergency medical services to townships in the Gratiot, Ohio area.

BWC approved $22,330.12 to purchase eighteen self leveling carts and six manual skid lifters to reduce the risk of injury to hands, wrist, arms, shoulder, neck, back, and legs related to hand force, awkward postures, push/pull moderate load, and manual materials handling.  This intervention will improve the materials handling process.  Egelhof Controls Corp. is a manufacturer of control valves for air conditioning systems.

Miami County

Joint Fire District Pleasant Hill-Newton Township

BWC approved $40,000.00 to purchase one power cot, one power load system, and one chest compression system with accessories to reduce the risk of injury to fingers, hands, wrist, elbows, arms, shoulder, neck, back, and legs related to repetitive motion, hand force, awkward postures, contact stress, push/pull moderate to heavy load, and manual materials handling.  This intervention will improve the patient cardiopulmonary resuscitation and transport processes.  Pleasant Hill-Newton Township Joint Fire District provides fire prevention and emergency medical services.

Montgomery County

Farmersville Fire Association

BWC approved $33,396.18 to purchase one powered load system and one powered cot to reduce the risk of injury related to manually lifting and loading/unloading patients into and out of emergency vehicles. This intervention will improve the processes patient handling and lifting by reducing repetitive lifting. Farmersville Fire Association is a volunteer fire department that provides fire and emergency medical services to residents in Farmersville and neighboring jurisdictions.

Scioto County

Clay Township

BWC approved $36,095.02 to purchase one power cot and power load system with accessories to reduce the risk of injury to hands, wrist, arms, shoulder, neck, back, and legs related to hand force, awkward postures, contact stress, push/pull moderate load, and manual materials handling.  This intervention will improve the patient transport process.  Clay Township Fire Department is an all volunteer fire department that provides emergency response treatment.

Green Township

BWC approved $40,000.00 to purchase one patient transfer system and two loading systems for two ambulances to reduce the risk of injury related to manually lifting and loading/unloading patients into and out of emergency vehicles. This intervention will improve the processes patient handling and lifting by reducing repetitive lifting. Green Township provides EMS services.

Shelby County

Koenig Equipment Inc.

BWC approved $17,313.97 to purchase seven pneumatic tractor jacks with lift bars and safety pins, and seven pneumatic heavy vehicle support stands to reduce the risk of injury to fingers, hands, wrist, arms, shoulder, neck, back, and legs related to crushing injuries, slips, trips, falls, repetitive motion, hand force, awkward postures, contact stress, and  push/pull heavy load.  This intervention will improve the agricultural equipment service and maintenance process.  Koenig Equipment Inc. is a lawn, garden, and agricultural equipment solutions provider.

BWC approved $40,000.00 to purchase one robot cell to reduce the risk of injury to the hands, wrists, arms, neck, back, and legs related to repetition, hand force, awkward postures, contact stress, push/pull – moderate and heavy load, and manual materials handling – load. This intervention will improve the plastic parts manufacturing process. Paarlo Plastics Inc provides custom blow molding of thermoplastic products.

South Webster-Bloom Twp Joint Fire District

BWC approved $32,402.85 to purchase one powered load system and one powered cot to reduce the risk of injury related to manually lifting and loading/unloading patients into and out of emergency vehicles. This intervention will improve the processes patient handling and lifting by reducing repetitive lifting. South Webster-Bloom Twp Joint Fire District is a volunteer fire department which provides emergency medical services.

Tuscarawas County

Designer Stone Co.

BWC approved $12,225.12 to purchase one automatic stair climber lift, and one no lift install system with remote control, roll ramp, and vehicular battery charger to reduce the risk of injury to fingers, hands, wrist, arms, shoulder, neck, back, and legs related to hand force, awkward postures, contact stress, push/pull moderate to heavy load, and manual materials handling.  This intervention will improve the countertop installation process.  Designer Stone Co. manufactures granite and quartz countertops for residential and commercial applications.

Richmonds Woodworks Inc.

BWC approved $32,821.50 to purchase one wide-belt sander and one return to potentially reduce the risk of injury to the hands, wrists, arms, shoulders, neck, back and legs related to repetition, hand force, awkward postures, vibration, push/pull – moderate load, and manual materials handling – load and frequency. This intervention will improve the furniture and furniture parts finishing process. Richmonds Woodworks Inc manufactures furniture and furniture parts.

Wayne County

BWC approved $40,000.00 to purchase one power cot and one power load system to reduce the risk of injury to hands, wrist, arms, shoulder, neck, back, and legs related to hand force, awkward postures, contact stress, push/pull moderate load, and manual materials handling.  This intervention will be used to improve the patient transport process.  Paint Township Fire Department responses to fire and emergency medical services calls.
